PCQHRA offers a wealth of racing opportunities for Quarter Horses at Los Alamitos and on the California Fair Circuit. Los Alamitos Race Course introduced year-round Quarter Horse racing in 2001. The 2008 Quarter Horse meet runs from Dec. 27,2007 through Dec. 21, 2008, offering 205 night racing programs, featuring a mixed meet format of Quarter Horses, Arabians and Thorougbreds. The majority of all races at Los Alamitos are written for Quarter Horses. The 2008 meet features racing on a Thursday-through-Sunday schedule.
The Los Alamitos Quarter Horse meet is world-renowned as offering the most lucrative stakes schedule in the sport of Quarter Horse racing. The 2008 Los Alamitos Quarter Horse season will feature the richest stakes program in the history of the track.
In addition to the lucrative stakes schedule at Los Alamitos, California features a summer-long fair circuit featuring Quarter Horse races. The fair racing season opens in mid-June and continues through mid-October. Many added money Quarter Horse stakes were offered last year on the California Fair Circuit with racing opportunities in all age categories.
